Recertifying

Surface Preparation
Thorough surface preparation of a cylinder is key to a quality re-certification. The complete removal of labels, grime, and old paint through hand-scraping and abrasive blasting facilitates a thorough visual inspection and accurate recertification of your cylinder.
Cylinder Testing
CCS’ highly-trained technicians operate two Nordco Ultrasonic Cylinder Inspection Systems. For over 30 years, ultrasound technology has been employed in multiple applications - from medical evaluations to critical component qualification of railroad tracks and aircraft parts. Ultrasonic Examination (UE) is recognized as the preferred method of non-destructive analysis. In the drought-plagued West, the UE process is a responsible alternative to hydrostatic/water-jacket testing.

Painting
Painting a steel cylinder is a slow, labor-intensive process. There are faster and less expensive methods, but hand-painting steel provides a coat of protection that far outlasts the mist from a spray gun.
Internal Cleaning
When internal cleaning and/or rinsing of a cylinder is required, consistent 180 degree water is injected for a set period of time, either with soap for contaminant-cleaning, or without soap for rinsing. There is no substitute for the industrial high-temperature instant hot water heaters used at CCS. Every cylinder receives just the right amount of just the right temperature water.

Valving
Valve removal and re-installation involves far more than screwing a valve into and out of a cylinder. CCS technicians know the physics of torqueing and the importance of doing it right. Any tool used to torque valves at CCS is calibrated daily, prior to use. Proper valve torqueing coupled with both cylinder and valve thread preparation increases safety for all those who come in contact with the cylinder after it leaves CCS.
Medical Cylinder Refurbishing
Being located in Southern California (think Los Angeles/ Hollywood/ Beverly Hills), Cody understands the benefits of a good makeover. Here cylinders which have seen better days are pampered and polished to restore their youthful glow. Those aged, no longer relevant cylinders (perhaps with obsolete stenciled names) are put back into circulation, looking fresh and rejuvenated, almost like new. Restorative procedures to transform out-of-date assets include replacing old pin index valves with new integrated regulators for superior returns on your investment.
